TULSA, Oklahoma -

The Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a Tulsa man in connection with a fatal hit and run crash on Wednesday at 9th and Richmond.

Williams Bauders, 30, was apprehended after Tulsa Police tracked him down early Friday.

According to a police booking report, Bauders confessed to driving a stolen pickup on January 1, 2014 and crashing into a car, killing Christina Bradshaw, 46.

Police said Bauders also admitted to stealing a trailer in the 1200 block of South Norwood just prior to the crash.

Investigators said they tracked down the owner of the tag which was on the truck, who said her son told her she needed to report her vehicle as stolen, because it "was used in something." According to the police report, the woman called her son's acquaintances, who "all stated Bill Bauders had admitted to causing the collision but would not turn himself in."

The task force arrested Bauders at a home in the 5100 block of West 3rd at 1:25 a.m. Friday.

Tulsa Police said Bauders was driving a Dodge pickup on New Year's Day westbound on East 9th when he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a Toyota Camry driven by Bradshaw. Police said Bauders got out of the truck and ran away.

According to the arrest report, Bauders confessed on video to stealing the truck and cutting the lock to steal the trailer.

Police said Bauders stated during questioning "he did not know he killed a lady and fled because he believed he was being followed."

Christina Bradshaw's family said she had a heart of gold, was a hard worker and held down two jobs, one at a convenience store and one as a hospice caregiver.

Now, Bradshaw's family is left to figure out how to move on.

"I think the main thing right now is just got to focus on the good things, the lives that she touched, the people that she helped," said her nephew, Justin Pigeon.

Court records show that Bauders has a separate case pending, for distribution of a controlled substance.

Bauders was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second degree murder, leaving the scene of an injury crash, possession of a stolen vehicle, second degree burglary, failure to stop for a stop sign and driving under suspension.

He is being held in lieu of a $519,100 bond. Jail records show Bauders has a court appearance set for January 10.

Bauders' mother contacted News On 6 and disputed the Tulsa Police Department's account in the booking report.
