In advance of our next storm system, winds will crank up out of the south today. Gusts will be as high as 45 to 50 mph this afternoon in the west. This will really increase the threat for wildfires this afternoon.

Look for highs in the in the 30s in the east, 40s in central Oklahoma, and low 50s in the west with sunny skies.

Our next arctic cold front will arrive Saturday morning in northern Oklahoma, around midday in OKC, and will make it to the Red River by 4 p.m. Behind the front, look for strong north winds causing dropping temperatures and increasing cloud cover.

We will have limited moisture to work with across Oklahoma, but some light rain is possible in the far southeast, with snow chances in the north. Snowfall accumulations will be light with flurries to a dusting around the OKC metro, and 1 to 2 inches along the Oklahoma/Kansas border.

Highs Sunday will be limited to the mid 20s, followed by a reinforcing blast of arctic air Monday. Highs Monday will struggle to make it out of the teens!
