A woman is behind bars after she allegedly slapped and bit an Oklahoma City police officer.

It happened on Saturday, January 4, when officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 600 block of N.W. 7th Street.

According to a police report, when officers arrived on the scene, they saw Janelle Destiny Martin, 23, sitting on the porch and acting erratically and claiming she "needed three cars."

Police say Martin was unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech and blood shot eyes. She also smelled of alcohol. As the officer took a hold of her left arm to place her into custody, the report states Martin slapped the officer and scratched his face. During the incident, the officer's glasses were ripped from his face causing them to break.

As the officer placed her on the ground to handcuff her, police say Martin allegedly bit the officer on the leg below his left knee.

Martin was placed into the back of a patrol car where officers were forced to place her in feet restraints because she tried to kick out the back window, the report states.

Martin was transported to a local hospital where officers say she continued to be combative and had to be cuffed to the bed to keep her from hurting medical staff.

Martin was eventually booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and public drunkenness.
