Parents Of Slain Duncan Teenager Speak Out

The parents of a Duncan teenager allegedly stabbed to death by her 16-year-old ex-boyfriend are speaking out about the latest twist in the case.

Michael Ray changed his plea last week from not guilty to guilty. He has told investigators he stabbed 14-year-old Alyssa Wiles in her home last June because he wanted her to be quiet.

"We're glad we don't have to sit through a trial and hear exactly what happened to her and how it would have affected her body," said Brad Wiles, Alyssa's father. "We have to suffer every day without her knowing that we will never get to see her again until we get to go to heaven."

Sentencing is set for March 5.

If convicted, Ray, who is being treated as an adult, will face life in prison either with or without parole.

The Wiles hope he is never a free man.
