The Oklahoma County District Attorney filed criminal charges against Dr. William Valuck on Wednesday. The criminal filing listed nine counts of first-degree murder and 72 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

No new victims were listed in the criminal filing compared to the doctor's arrest warrant, which included 52 felony counts.

Valuck is accused of overprescribing and causing nine deaths, including Christina Green's overdose.

Green's sister and 10-year-old daughter were shocked Valuck now faces 81 felony counts.

Christina Green became addicted to pain killers after complications surrounding the birth of her daughter, Bailey. Starting in 2012, Valuck overprescribed Green nearly every four weeks, according to the official charges.

Green died Sept. 20, 2012, after a cocktail of prescription drugs just days after Bailey was diagnosed with cancer. Her family said Valuck did not force feed the pills to Green, but he put a deadly weapon in her hand.

"This is an addiction, you know, and he made it so much easier for these people to get these massive amounts of pills and it's ridiculous," Kathy Green explained.

Investigators said Valuck was the top prescriber in the state for controlled dangerous substances. He reached nearly 30,000 in a year, which is 12,000 more CDS prescriptions than the second largest prescriber.

He is currently being held in the Oklahoma County Jail without bond.
