ME: Man's Death In 2012 Tulsa Police Standoff Was Suicide

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner has determined that the death of a man during a standoff with Tulsa Police two years ago was a suicide.

Terence Moses, 31, died on January 26, 2012.

Tulsa Police said Moses opened fire as they entered a condominium where they believed he was holding his ex-wife against her will.

The standoff had begun early that morning when the Rogers County Sheriff's Office notified Tulsa Police that Moses may have been holding his ex-wife at the Brandy Chase Condominiums on south Peoria.

In a newly-released report on his death, the chief medical examiner said Moses had five gunshot wounds in his body, four in the head and one in the chest. 

In the report Dr. Eric Pfeifer wrote that he reviewed Moses' case file, scene and autopsy photos, toxicology report and body diagrams.

He concluded that none of the shots would have resulted in "instantaneous incapacitation" and that all five wounds "are consistent individually and as a group with self-infliction." 

Dr. Pfeifer then classified the death as suicide.
