OKC Trucking Company's Plans To Relocate Create Controversy

Tuttle residents are upset about an Oklahoma City trucking company's plans for a plot of land about seven miles east of town.   

LLT Trucking has petitioned the city to change zoning for the area so they can operate what they say will be a dispatch center there. 

However, residents in nearby Cottonwood Village fear the trucking company plans to wash out dirty cattle trailers there. They say that would not only produce a foul odor, it could also contaminate the water supply. 

An attorney for the trucking company tells News 9 there are no plans to wash out dirty trailers on the property, and residents have been given bad information. But Cottonwood resident Michelle Roberts isn't so sure.

"A lot of information is still out there," she said. "There's misinformation out there." 

City Manager Tim Young says the proposal has been through planning commission meetings, and could go in front of Tuttle's City Council in the next month.  

"What the applicant has proposed is to operate a trucking office to store not more than five trucks and five trailers," he said.  "We do not want a cattle wash in Tuttle."
