Lanes Blocked After Multi-Vehicle Accident On EB I-44

Emergency crews are responding to an accident involving multiple vehicles on the eastbound side of Interstate 44, near the I-40 exit, Friday afternoon.

Five separate vehicles were involved in the crash, as well as a jackknifed semi truck.

Several lanes of traffic are blocked at this time while crews work to clear the scene and authorities have closed the highway at SW 15th St.

EMSA has taken at least one injured person away from the scene and another ambulance was en route, struggling to make it through the traffic.

The cause of the accident has not yet been reported. No other details are known at this time.
