Rogers County prosecutors charged the owner of a Foyil convenience store with eight crimes on Friday, including selling synthetic drugs and running illegal slot machines.

Court documents show it's a good thing deputies raided the Okie Mart in Foyil when they did, because the store's owner was headed out of the country.

They say they found his passport, some foreign money and plane tickets to Bangladesh for just nine days later.

Documents say the Rogers County T.H.U.G. task force began investigating the store's activities after getting a number of complaints from citizens.

They say they made undercover buys of synthetic drugs at the store, even after the store owner, Mohammed Islam, was warned he could not sell the products in Oklahoma.

According to deputies, the day of the search they confiscated a total of 187 kilos of synthetic drugs from the store and Islam's home; worth around $10,000 dollars on the street.

They say much of it was hidden inside a floor safe in the back office. They also found nearly two dozen glass smoking pipes.

Deputies say he was selling these illegal drugs just over 850 feet from Foyil public schools.

In addition, deputies reportedly recovered three slot machines that were paying out cash for winning combinations.

The Okie Mart store re-opened just a few weeks after the bust and deputies say they haven't had any complaints of illegal activity.

Of the eight charges against Islam, three are felonies, the rest are misdemeanors.
