TULSA, Oklahoma -

High fire danger continues in Oklahoma Tuesday because of strong winds and low humidity.

North to northwest winds will gust in the 30 to 35 mph range behind a cold front Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. Those winds combined with drier air behind the front will lead to a significant fire danger.

Though we may get some light rain, it's not expected to significantly reduce the risk of wildfires.

Residents throughout Oklahoma are urged to avoid outdoor burning because of the windy, dry conditions.

Several grass fires popped up over the weekend and on Monday, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish them.
