NORMAN, Oklahoma -

Sorority sister at Alpha Gamma Delta were forced out of their home last night after a fire broke out in the attic area. Two Norman Police officers are being credited with running into the burning house and evacuating all of the women before anyone was injured.

On Wednesday afternoon, police tape was still up around the AGD house. Members of the sorority said they were not allowed to speak to the media about the fire but a spokeswoman from the AGD international headquarters told News 9 that plans were underway to finder all of the girls new housing.

Twitter was abuzz with supportive messages to the women and reaction from sorority members.

The official Twitter page for OU Alpha Gamma Delta said, "Thank you everyone for your outpour of love, support & blessings. Our women are okay. We are fortunate to have so much love & support."

Investigators with the Fire Marshal's office spent much of Wednesday trying to figure out what sparked the fire. It was mainly contained to the attic, according to Deputy Chief Jim Bailey with the Norman Fire Department. The house, however, suffered extensive damage.

"You have significant damage in the attic and then you've got water damage throughout the building so it ah, they probably won't be back in this semester," explained Bailey.

As of Wednesday evening, more than $5,000 was raised for the sorority on Go Fund Me.
