A man is being held for murder Wednesday, after setting off a Tulsa Amber Alert.

Police say Marquis Morris shot Lemont Watson and then kidnapped an 11-year-old girl.

The girl was found safe at a Tulsa Quik-Trip and Morris was arrested a short time later in Muskogee.

People who live at the Fairview Apartments, are still shaken up by what happened Tuesday night. Some say they're considering moving after a night they'll not soon forget.

Resident, Justin McGriff said, "I thought I heard a gunshot, but I thought it was just TV, and I laid there for 30 more minutes. When I got up, there was EMSA, police, you guys' news vans."

Another resident, Yvonne New, said, "I saw him come down in a body bag and it was heartbreaking. It was sad."

Harold Mack, who lives right down the hall from the room where the shooting happened, said he was there when Watson died.

"I had the towel around his neck when he was shot," Mack said.

He said Watson just took three breaths and he was gone.

Mack also said he's seen a lot of drugs and meth at the apartments, and after last night, he wants to move.

"I can't stand it no more," Mack said. "I could still see the guy's face. You know, that don't make no sense."

Other residents are also hoping for a change.

"They always saying so much negative stuff about North Tulsa and this is just something else to give them. But I always say you can take two negatives and make a positive. And there's maybe something we can do about this."

The suspect is being held in the Tulsa County Jail without bond, suspected of first degree murder.
