After receiving word that the NCAA would grant a waiver from a bylaw that previously had forced Oral Roberts to forfeit a pair of Southland Conference games, the Golden Eagles will face Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word as originally scheduled.

"We are very pleased the NCAA staff and the SLR saw fit to review this issue, and that our student-athletes aren't harmed by the possibilities of forfeitures," Southland Commissioner Tom Burnett said. "The Southland's Executive Committee has reviewed the outcome of the waiver request, and has rescinded its previous actions, and we are excited that all games we planned to cancel, or were canceled, will be played fully as scheduled or rescheduled."

ORU (8-8, 2-1) will take on league newcomer Abilene Christian (6-10, 0-2) in ORU's first SLC road game of the year, facing the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. inside Moody Coliseum on Thursday, January 16.

Thursday will mark the third meeting between ORU and Abilene Christian, although the first since 1984, when ORU won 105-80. The Golden Eagles hold a 2-0 advantage in the series, but have never played the Wildcats on the road.
