Potential Oklahoma Horse Slaughter Houses Hit Speed Bump

The prospect of bringing horse slaughter houses to Oklahoma is not happening anytime soon, thanks to the budget measure signed by the President this week.

The measure will provide temporary funding for the government, but it does not provide money to the agriculture department to inspect slaughter houses.

Oklahoma lawmakers approved the plan but without inspection the houses can't be built.

Lawmakers now say they are back at the starting gate on what to do with unwanted horses.
