TULSA, Oklahoma -

Red Flag warnings are once again in effect for some northeastern Oklahoma counties after a day of wildfires kept area firefighters busy Saturday.

Tulsa firefighters put out a small grass fire at 36th Street North and North Cincinnati that started just before 2 p.m. Sunday. The fire was just south of Saint Simeon's Retirement Center.

It's not expected to get better soon, according to WARN Team Meteorologist Dick Faurot. Anticipated conditions for the next seven days mean that Oklahoma still continues to be "high and dry," Faurot said.

"That means the drought will only worsen, and along with the dry conditions the fire danger will also be high, Faurot said in his weather blog.

"A Red Flag Fire Danger statement has already been issued by the good folks at the National Weather Service office for a dangerous combination of wind and low humidity levels for much of the state. In other words, no time to be careless while outdoors," Faurot said.

Red Flag warnings are in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday for Tulsa, Rogers, Ottawa, Pawnee Creek, Washington, Osage, Craig, Nowata, Okfuskee and Okmulgee counties.

Temperatures this week are expected to be a roller coaster ride, alternating being daytime highs in the 50s to chilly days Tuesday and Thursday. There is no moisture in the week's forecast.
