Oklahoma City, OK -

A plan for urban chickens has hatched again in Oklahoma City.

Three weeks ago, the Oklahoma City council voted against a plan to let residents without larger properties house chickens.

At city council on Tuesday, another proposal was officially introduced. The newest proposal will have the same requirements as the original one.

They include a limit of six hens, no roosters, and a size requirement on the chicken coop.

"This will give your neighbor an opportunity to voice their opinion and that was lacking before," Ward 6 City Councilperson, Meg Salyer said.

If you want a permit, you would have to pay $25 and anyone living within 300 feet would be informed about the request. The board of adjustment would hear your request, along with any opposing views from neighbors, before making their final decision.

The proposal is now being considered by Oklahoma City council members.
