Arctic Cold Front Prompts Wind Chill Advisory For Northern Oklahoma

The National Weather Service office in Tulsa has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from midnight to noon Thursday.

The National Weather Service office in Tulsa has issued a Wind Chill Advisory from midnight to noon Thursday.

The following Oklahoma counties included in the advisory:

  • Adair
  • Cherokee
  • Craig
  • Creek
  • Delaware
  • Mayes
  • Nowata
  • Osage
  • Ottawa
  • Pawnee
  • Rogers
  • Tulsa
  • Wagoner
  • Washington

Chautauqua and Montgomery counties in Kansas are also under the advisory.

News On 6 meteorologist Michael Grogan says an arctic cold front will move into Oklahoma late Wednesday.

He says combined with gusty northwest winds, wind chills early Thursday could be zero to -15 degrees.

The high temperature for Tulsa on Thursday is forecast at 22 degrees.

After this brief brush with cold weather, Grogan says temperatures will climb into the 50s and 60s for the weekend.
