A mother-daughter duo from Del City is currently behind bars. Tonya Renee, 37 Young and her 18-year-old daughter Jayme Nicole Young are accused of stealing UPS packages right off the doorsteps of several homes in west Edmond.

The pair reportedly took clothes, shoes, baby gear, even a kitchen sink. Edmond Police got a call about the mother-daughter duo after an alert neighbor spotted them swiping his next door neighbor's package.

"I guess I'm the nosey neighbor of the neighborhood" said Rory Garien, who alerted police.

Garien is the kind of neighbor you'd like to have. He says he was just coming outside to get some fresh air,  when he noticed something suspicious; a white Ford Explorer parked in front of his next door neighbor's house.

"Just the way it was parked was odd," said Garien. "Then I noticed the lady running from the house with a package in her hand. It was a good size cardboard box."

Rory says he yelled and asked if she needed any help, and that's when the woman ran down the street, jumped in the Explorer, and took off.

"When she blew the stop sign and took a right, that's when I knew something was wrong. So I ran into the house and called 911," said Garien.

Within minutes police arrested the Youngs, who were in that Explorer and still in the neighborhood.

Inside their SUV they found several UPS packages addressed to several homes in the Kelley Park subdivision, including homes on Jupiter Cir., Mars Rd, and Charlton Rd., which are all near 15th and Kelley in Edmond.

Joshua Edwards says one of those packages had a copper sink worth more than $400 that he had just ordered to replace the red one in his kitchen.

"Yeah that's a lot of money for a sink," said Edwards. "So whenever that got taken, I was like, ‘oh well.'"

Fortunately for Edwards, officers recovered his new sink, so he can replace the old one he has now. He's just glad Garien was looking out for his entire neighborhood.

"I was just glad we could get it stopped and hopefully everybody get their packages back," said Garien.

News 9 checked and this is the first arrest for Jayme Young. However, Tonya Young has a long list of prior arrests.

Tonya and Jayme Young were booked into the Edmond jail, but have since been moved to the Oklahoma county jail. They're being held on a $30,000 bond.
