State lawmakers from Tulsa are going back to school Friday morning to talk about public education funding needs for the coming legislative year.

Each year, local members of the state House and Senate meet with Tulsa Public Schools and Board of Education officials ahead of the legislative session which begins next month.

The meeting is taking place at Monroe Demonstration School at 2010 East 48th Street North, a dual language immersion program for elementary students.

TPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard talked to the lawmakers who also toured the campus.
