3.0 Magnitude Earthquakes Recorded In Alfalfa and Okfuskee Counties

The U.S. Geological Survey reports two small earthquakes have been recorded in Oklahoma.

The U.S.G.S. says the first was recorded at 9:52 a.m. Friday about four miles east of Helena in Alfalfa County, about 80 miles northwest of Oklahoma City. The second was recorded at 11:59 a.m. near Boley in Okfuskee County, about 55 miles east of Oklahoma City.

Both were measured at magnitude 3.0.

The sheriff's offices in both counties say there are no reports of injury or damage.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans.
