Will and Wiley, two grizzly bears, will predict the weather at the Oklahoma City Zoo's annual Groundhog Day event Sunday, February 2nd.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. this Sunday in the Zoo's Big Rivers building at Oklahoma Trails.

Free hot chocolate and snacks will be available for visitors to enjoy, and children can design Groundhog Day signs.

Will and Wiley, named after Will Rogers and Wiley Post, came to the Oklahoma City Zoo from Alaska about 10 years ago.

Originally, bears predicted the weather in Europe. The badger or groundhog became the new weather predictor after the decline in bear population.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets cost $8 for adults, $5 for children ages three to 11 and seniors 65 and over. Admission is free to children age two and under.
