One of Oklahoma's Own starred in a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday.

But she's no stranger to the TV screen.

You probably remember the little girl from that Cheerios commercial featuring a mixed-race family.

At the time the commercial drew such a harsh response, YouTube had to disable its comment section.

Now the interracial family is back and Oklahoma's Grace Colbert is cuter than ever.

The last time we met up with Grace Colbert, it was about seven months ago, when her first big break, a Cheerios commercial, was at its peak.

"Once you get on commercials and movies, you'll be a movie star and I don't say this, but a commercial star," she said with a laugh.

The commercial sparked hateful comments over the fact that Grace's screen mom was white and her dad was black, just like her real-life parents.

But in Grace's 6-year-old eyes, the attention had nothing to do with color of skin, but instead she thought it was all about her.

"Maybe, I'm thinking that they like is my hair... and my smile," she said.

Grace spends a lot of time in Oklahoma.

Her mom graduated grew up living in Cushing and Chandler, while her dad hails from Oklahoma City.

Grace's aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents all still live in the state, which makes it the perfect place to come for a break from the fast-paced city life of Los Angeles.

"In California, you don't get that much vacation," she said. "You're very busy."

And busy she is.

She's spent the past several months auditioning, taking acting classes, and landing another starring role in a Cheerios commercial.

This time, she adds a little negotiating and a lot of sass.

The newest commercial stirred up some controversy last week when an MSNBC tweet was posted saying, "Maybe the right wing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family."

The tweet was quickly removed and the network has apologized, calling the post "outrageous and unacceptable."

They later said they dismissed the person responsible for the tweet.

But aside from that, the feedback has been nothing but positive.

"We fell in love with this family," Camille Gibson, vice president of marketing for Cheerios told CBS MoneyWatch. "We thought the big game provided an opportunity to tell a story about family love."

The brand considered several other spots for its Super Bowl foray, but the performance by the little girl in the ad "was so strong, and that was really why we chose it," Gibson said.

As for the rising star, Grace, who is now seven? She's enjoying life in the spotlight, while keeping her sights set on life's simpler things.

"Every girl's dream is to watch TV, get popcorn, candy and drink soda," she said.
