MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -

People in Muskogee are busy digging out from the latest winter storm. Muskogee got about five inches of snow, leading to a busy day for city crews and others.

The sunshine made a big difference as far as melting the snow in Muskogee, and that comes as good news, especially considering more winter storms are in the forecast.

In Muskogee, most of the main roads were in good shape, but some secondary and residential streets were still covered with several inches of snow.

City crews spent the morning treating and clearing around police and fire stations, and then later concentrated on streets around schools in Muskogee.

A number of drivers ran off the road, but emergency personnel said only a few were injury accidents. All over town, people spent the day clearing parking lots and sidewalks.

Jan Strauss spent much of the day shoveling and isn't looking forward to the chance of more snow this week.

"Hopefully it won't be as much, I haven't really heard the forecast and how bad it's supposed to be. People keep telling me it's supposed to be every other day. I'm not ready for that," Strauss said.

Muskogee city crews said they'll have extra manpower on standby for those additional winter storms we're expecting.
