TULSA, Oklahoma -

It's more of the same for Oklahoma with the chance of winter weather again in the forecast. News On 6 WARN Team Meteorologist Mike Grogan said almost every day in the past week has featured some type of winter weather hazard.

"One more winter hazard lies ahead, and that is the snow potential for Monday," Grogan said in his weather blog. Travel impacts are likely no matter the accumulation, he said.

Grogan said snow should be light on Monday morning north of Tulsa and shouldn't be much of a factor during rush-hour traffic, but light freezing drizzle is possible overnight. Most of the early-morning precipitation will be north of U.S. Highway 412.

Check ODOT Road Conditions

A new, heavier band of snow will develop late afternoon/early evening. The Interstate 40 corridor to Tulsa and west-northwest could see moderate snow at times as it travels East, Grogan said.

The Monday night threat will affect most of Eastern Oklahoma -- everywhere from McAlester to the north, he said.

Across a broad spectrum, Grogan is predicting 1 to 2 inches for northeast and east-central Oklahoma, but larger amounts could be produced locally in the heavier bands, he said.

"Be sure to plan ahead for the difficult travel conditions Monday into Tuesday. Heavier snow may spare us until after the Monday morning commute, but any burst of snow during the day could quickly make roads treacherous," he said. "Temperatures dipping into the mid-teens by Tuesday morning as the snow ends won't help matters either."

There is a light at the end of the tunnel - could it be the return of the sun? A warming trend is expected for the latter half of the week, and we could be into the 50s as early as Thursday and in the 60s by next weekend.

"Until then, have the snow boots and the patience on the roadways handy," Grogan said. has made it easy for you to keep up with weather on the go with smartphone apps. We have news and weather apps for iPhones and Android phones.
