A sulfuric acid leak from a tanker truck backed up northbound traffic on Highway 75 at 23rd Street South Monday.
The Tulsa Fire Department says 10 to 20 gallons of sulfuric acid leaked onto the highway from the tanker parked in the outside lane.
Traffic was backed up for several miles as authorities moved all northbound traffic to the inside lanes.
The fire department says firefighters are standing by as a remediation crew cleans up the spill to get the outside lane reopened.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says drivers should expect to see significant delays in the area for several hours.
