A state Senator from Moore has come up with a common sense solution to school tornado safety: Shift the schedule to August through April, so schools would be closed during the most dangerous tornado month of May.

Here's what you had to say, starting with Tera in Moore first:

"I can't say it enough, PLEASE do this. I want to know how to fight to make this happen!!"

Kari in Noble:

"Praise God someone finally used what God gave them. I totally support the idea."

But Kara in Edmond said:

"Terrible idea. So many parents work..might not want kids home alone in houses during storms."

And David in Moore added:

"Uh, there are tornadoes in April and March too. Just build the stinkin' shelters already, ya penny pinching #@*$%&"

To which Susan responded:

"so in your world, money grows on trees? in reality, here in the real world, taxes pay for the shelters. so if there is a better way, so be it."

JD wrote:

"Great idea. However, August is the hottest month, and if my kids are going to be in school, it needs to be properly air conditioned. "

Stormy said:

"Much better then having to pull our kids out or just not take them at all if there is a high risk the next day."

Finally, Shannon in Little Axe said:

"I actually agree with you for once. I would like to see storm shelters in every school..while we find the funding.. This plan should be implemented."
