Edmond police detectives are searching for a man who was seen running through Mitch Park without pants. Witnesses tell officers a man jumped from behind bushes at the park only wearing a hoodie.
"I could see the person in the woods … with his hoodie," witness Jason Souter told News 9.
Souter was nearing the end of a three-mile run when a woman flagged him down as she was calling 911.
"[The suspect] came out of the bushes and came right up to her and was close," Edmond police spokesperson Jenny Monroe said.
A young boy was with his mom when police say the man exposed himself. Officers canvassed the area but could not find the perpetrator, according to Monroe. Souter sprinted into action and chased the suspect, who witnesses say was making a mad dash with shorts around his ankles. Police say ever since the new YMCA opened, people have been flocking to the park.
"We're going to step up patrols in that park area because it is a very popular place," said Monroe.
The suspect is identified as a white man in his early 20s. He was wearing a black hoodie. If you have any information that may help detectives, call police at 405-359-4420.
