Murder Charge Dismissed Against OK Teen In Death Of Father

Oklahoma County Prosecutors dismiss a murder charge against a Del City woman accused of killing her father.

Angelina Davis, 18, spent the last seven months locked up in the Oklahoma County Jail.

"It's messed up," said Davis in an exclusive with News9. "I had to sit there for nothing."

Davis claims she had anxiety and even suffered from panic attacks while in jail for her father's murder. Her father, Jay Davis was found with a cord wrapped around his neck at his home in the 100 block of S.E. 17th Street on March 24, 2013.

Prosecutors claimed Angelina Davis was involved in the murder because she knew intimate details about the crime scene.

"I didn't do it and I had to sit in jail for seven months and mourn my dad," said Davis.

When asked, "Did you kill your father?" Davis said "No" and then turned the question," Do you believe I did?"

Davis claimed she was with her boyfriend when her father was killed. Court papers indicate the specific date of her father's murder is still unknown.

Still, Davis defends her alibi and claims investigators built the case on lies from her enemies.

"They didn't have a speck of hair, they didn't find no freaking fingerprints, nothing on me," Davis said to maintain her innocence.

Court papers reveal a seedy side of Davis indicating she was a drug addict and a prostitute who harassed her father for money on a regular basis. Anti -prostitution activist, Brian Bates, says that lifestyle could motivate someone to kill.

"Some of the things that go hand in hand with the drug addiction and the prostitution is the violence and these people will really resort to anything to get the drugs."

Davis admitted she was a drug addict but denies the allegations found in paperwork.

"I'm not out there on Robinson selling my [expletive] and I don't sell drugs either," she said.

Now that she has been released from jail, Davis hopes investigators will turn their attention elsewhere.

"I worry because there is still a killer out there on the [expletive] loose because the freaking police don't know how to do their job," said Davis.

Prosecutors said they dismissed the case against Davis, pending an ongoing investigation.

They would not say if she is still considered a suspect but with more evidence those charges could be re-filed.
