OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Councilman Ed Shadid, who is challenging Mayor Mick Cornett for mayor, released the first television ad of his campaign on Thursday. The ad debuted just 12 days before the March 4 election.

Cornett's first campaign ad debuted Feb. 11. A second ad hit the air Wednesday. In a 30-second spot, Shadid promises to represent all of Oklahoma City, equally.

"I believe it's my God-given responsibility to speak for those without a voice," Shadid said in the ad. "I cannot be bought...I will be a mayor for everyone."

Shadid has vowed to invest in neighborhoods, public safety and the public transit system. Cornett's newest ad lays out a focus on making neighborhoods stronger.

"Thanks to our city's renaissance, we have a special opportunity these next four years," Cornett said in the ad. "We can make our neighborhoods even stronger and better."

To that end, Cornett's ad highlights policies including low taxes, limited spending, support for police and firefighters and street improvements.

Oklahoma City residents will vote for mayor on March 4.
