My 2 Cents: OKC Thunder Tops Secondary Ticket Sales Prices

Remember when Clay Bennett decided to move the Seattle SuperSonics to Oklahoma City? Remember all the warnings that you can't take a team out of a wealthy market like Seattle and expect to make money in a Podunk mid-sized city like Oklahoma City?

Remember when Clay Bennett decided to move the Seattle SuperSonics to Oklahoma City? Remember all the warnings that you can't take a team out of a wealthy market like Seattle and expect to make money in a Podunk mid-sized city like Oklahoma City? Disastrous move by the NBA.

Remember all those NBA snobs predicting that Okies wouldn't buy expensive NBA tickets? Tell those experts to read Forbes magazine, which lists the most expensive NBA tickets on the secondary market, what people are paying for tickets being resold by season ticket holders or scalpers.

It's not New York nor LA at the top of the list. It's not even Miami, home of LeBron and the World Champion Heat. Nope, it's little old Oklahoma City.

The average price for a Thunder ticket on the resale market: $185! 2nd: The Knicks at $159. 3rd: The Heat $150. Then the Lakers at $125. Dallas? Sorry Big D you're way down the list. Thunder Tix go for $185, Mavericks $42, San Antonio Spurs $59.

Not only that, but Forbes says there are 4,000 people on the waiting list to get Thunder Season Tickets. Of course we are blessed with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but all of those other teams have big names too.

I'm interested to see why you think the Thunder have taken off like they have in this mid-sized city.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
