Journeyman Caron Butler has been bought out by Milwaukee and could join the Thunder once he clears the 48-hour waiver period and becomes a free agent.

Butler is reportedly interested in going to a contender and OKC and Miami top his list with Chicago and San Antonio also vying for his services.

The 6-foot-7 small forward averaged 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 34 games with the Bucks this season but has missed 20 games due to a variety of injuries. His versatility off the bench would allow the Thunder to play a small frontcourt of Butler, Durant and Ibaka or Butler could slide down to guard big two-guards and give Scott Brooks a huge lineup.

Butler has played for six franchises in 13 years as a pro, including Miami, where his career began. A few former teammates (Dwayne Wade, Udonis Haslem) are still in South Beach but the Heat just signed DeAndre Liggins to a 10-day contract and have a full 15-man roster. The Thunder's roster sits at 13 and with Kendrick Perkins out an estimated six weeks, it sure wouldn't hurt to have another veteran of Butler's caliber around.
