A Mississippi man was taken to the hospital early Sunday after he spun out of control and collided with a semi on U.S. Highway 412 in Pawnee County.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, John Morbant, 44, of Meridian, Miss., was transported with head injuries to St. John Hospital by Mercy EMS. At last check, he was reportedly stable.

Morbant was traveling westbound on U.S. 412 near Old Keystone Road about 3:30 a.m. when he lost control on the icy roadway and a semi hit his Chevrolet truck in the passenger side, OHP said.

The cause of the collision is listed as "too fast for conditions," according to the investigating trooper.

The driver of the semi, Linda Deford, 63, of Ponca City, was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the report says.
