Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti announced on Sunday that starting shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha will miss 4-6 weeks with a calf strain.
The injury occurred when Sefolosha landed awkwardly four minutes into the first quarter in the Thunder's victory against Memphis on Friday and never returned. Sefolosha had an MRI over the weekend to confirm the timetable for his recovery.
Coach Scott Brooks said Perry Jones will start in his place Sunday night against the Bobcats.
The newly-signed Caron Butler will also help soften the blow and he is expected to make his OKC debut on Tuesday.
The Thunder is now down two starters with starting center Kendrick Perkins also out of the lineup for the foreseeable future. Perk is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing a procedure on his left groin last week.
