THE VILLAGE, Oklahoma -

A northwest Oklahoma City man took matters into his own hands tonight when he chased down a suspect who allegedly burglarized his home and a string of others.

Mustafa Hamidi says his quiet neighborhood was rattled when a thief was going door-to-door breaking in and stealing TVs. But because of his quick action, he was able to help police catch the suspect.

"The only thing that was going through my mind was I had to catch him and stop him whatever it took," said Hamidi.

Hamidi says he was on a mission after a quick trip to the grocery store. He says he saw a black Ford Expedition casing the neighborhood, so he questioned the driver, who told him he was lost. But Hamidi got suspicious, took down the man's tag number and followed him down the street before making a stop at the gas station.

"When I was coming back, I see him running out of my house with the TV on his shoulder," said Hamidi. "My family was home. They were terrified. They were hiding in the bedroom."

The robber kicked down the door and then took off in his SUV. Hamidi took off after him, until the suspect crashed.

"When he wrecked his car, I jumped out of the car and ran behind him. Then he went over the fence and I kind of lost him, so then the neighbors called the police and the police found him hiding in the trashcan."

It was in a nearby apartment complex, where the Village Police arrested 18-year-old Cornelius Frazier.

"I pay attention to things and you might call that paranoia, but I look out for my family and for my neighborhood."

Hamidi says he is thankful The Village Police came in a couple minutes, and he says he and his neighbors will be able to get their stolen TVs back tomorrow.
