BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

In Broken Arrow, Thursday was known as Pray for Logan Day, a day to help a young man recovering from a hit and run accident. Logan Henry was running with his high school cross-country team in January when he was hit by a car.

Thursday was the Broken Arrow freshman's 16th birthday, a birthday his dad, Jered, didn't know that he would see.

"You have the fear, will he ever wake up," Jered asked.

On January 29th, police say a man driving a car in Broken Arrow hit Henry while he was running, and fled the scene. The drive would later come back and be placed under arrest.

The impact did extensive damage to Logan's body; a severe brain injury, a pelvis fractured in two places.

"His right leg, both bones were snapped. We knew that he was dealing with the topical; road rash, bruises cuts," Jered said.

Five weeks later, he is recovering; he still can't walk, but he started talking again, and is now eating some soft food. But there is still a long way to go.

"He's got dreams, he's got wants. And I want him to be able to do those. And some of those are in question," said Jered.

Logan's father said one of the things he's most thankful for is living in Broken Arrow. Despite being over 100,000 strong, everybody still knows everybody. And they've come together to help Logan's family.

On a personal level, Jered said he's very grateful for everyone's help. And when he was asked if he could ever forgive the driver, he said he could.

"Absolutely. I have um I have forgiveness. But I think there's accountability."
