Thunder coach Scott Brooks announced that rookie Andre Roberson will start Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Brooks listed plenty of reasons why Roberson is getting a shot in the starting lineup.
"Aggressive defense, activity, chasing them off screens, contesting shots, rebounding the basketball and running back in transition and matching up," Brooks explained. "He gives us activity, no question. He doesn't have a lot of experience, but one thing he has is a motor. He plays hard; knows what we expect."
Brooks specifically announced that Roberson will guard Jodie Meeks, who scored a career-high 42 points for LA in last Sunday's upset win.
"It's gonna be a good opportunity for him tonight, obviously. Jodie had a outstanding game against us and we wouldn't wanna see that again."
The Thunder is 4-0 this season when Roberson starts, including a 122-97 victory over the Lakers on Dec. 13, 2013 here in OKC.
