A car wreck in Caddo County killed a driver and one passenger early Saturday morning.

The wreck occurred around 5:39 a.m. Saturday on State Highway 19, seven miles west of Apache.

According to the report, a 19-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were traveling west bound on SH19. The vehicle went left of center, then departed the left side of the road for 315 feet, struck a retaining wall and caught fire.

Authorities said the 19-year-old driver was pinned just under three hours, while the 18-year-old passenger was pinned just over three hours, 20 minutes. Both individuals died at the scene.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

Comanche Tribal Police, Apache Police Department, Apache Fire Department and Apache EMS are assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with this investigation.

As stated in the report, the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but it is unknown if the passenger's seatbelt was in use.
