Russell Westbrook sat out Sunday night's contest against Dallas to rest.

Apparently the rest of the team took the night off, as well.

The Mavericks crushed Oklahoma City 109-86, as the Thunder suffered its worst loss in Chesapeake Energy Arena since before it carried that name, losing by 35 to Portland in the Ford Center on April 3, 2009.

Kevin Durant predictably led the way for the Thunder (48-18) with 30 points but KD struggled to find his shot against Dallas, connecting on just 8-of-20 attempts from the floor.

The shooting woes certainly weren't limited to Durant, either.

OKC shot just 36.7 percent for the game and was 9-of-29 from 3-point range. The Thunder was an alarmingly sub-standard 19-of-27 (70 percent) from the free-throw line.

Serge Ibaka added 19 points and six rebounds on 8-of-19 shooting, while Reggie Jackson was the only other Thunder player to reach double figures with 13 on a team-best 50 percent shooting (4-of-8) with four rebounds and three assists.

Shawn Marion scored 19 and Vince Carter added 18 for the Mavs, who ended a seven-game regular-season losing skid to the Thunder and 11-straight losses to OKC overall.

The Mavericks (40-27) shot 53.3 percent overall and hit 13-of-24 3's.

Oklahoma City was outscored by Dallas in every quarter, lowlighted by a game-deciding minus-10 in the third that blew the game open, increasing the Mavs' seven-point halftime lead to 17 entering the fourth.

The loss dropped Oklahoma City two games behind San Antonio for the top spot in the Western Conference.

The defeat, while certainly deflating, shouldn't be a cause for too much concern in the long run, as OKC was playing without three starters in Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha and Kendrick Perkins.

Westbrook should return to the Thunder lineup Monday night at Chicago.
