News On 6 WARN Team Meteorologist Alan Crone says wind speeds will increase to the 20 to 35 mph range. The winds are expected to shift from the southwest to the northwest as a front moves in.

"Despite the weekend rains, the fire danger will increase as the top soil quickly dries and the dead-dormant vegetation remains as an efficient fuel for wild fire. A fire weather watch is posted for our area," Crone said in his weather blog.

Any fires will quickly spread out of control and endanger lives and property, the Red Flag alert states.
