According to officials, several western Oklahoma county and Texas firefighters battled the fire. Highway 60, near the river, was closed.

Miller said the fire was out of control, however, to his knowledge, no homes have been damaged.

The fire was put out early Wednesday morning. Firefighters remain on the scene to watch out for hot spots.
