A homeowner shot at a suspect during an attempted home invasion in southwest Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City Police say it was the suspect's last stop on an all-night crime spree in a gated community.

Police have surveillance video of a white male wearing a hoodie pacing on the back porch of a home near SW 89th St and Western Ave.

"You know, just the fact that there is a strange person around, it's not a nice thing to think about," Gus Gudmonson said, after a suspect walked out of his pool house the day after police conducted a manhunt near his neighborhood.

Gudmonson said the suspect left behind a bag of stolen items that he apparently collected during a series of break-ins at the St Croix Villas.

"It was a little scary," Linda Jones said.

Jones thought she would be safe from such activity by living in a gated community.

"People watch out for each other," said Jones.

Police warned the neighbors that the same suspect broke out the window of a car, vandalized a home under construction, and tried to break into a home with a woman inside. When the suspect busted out a back window of the home, the homeowner fired one gunshot through the door.

The suspect ran away and apparently hid out in Gus Gudmonson's backyard until police were gone.

"Heck yeah, I want him caught," said Gudmonson.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance video, call Crime Stoppers (405) 235-7300. You can remain anonymous.
