Two teens were air-lifted to a local hospital after the car they were riding in flipped and hit a tree near Keetonville Road in Rogers County on Sunday afternoon.

The one-vehicle collision took place after 3 p.m. just south of Oklahoma 20, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers on the scene said the driver lost control of a 2008 Ford Focus, flipped the car and crashed into a tree. The Limestone Fire Department extricated both the driver and passenger, OHP said.

OHP released a report late Sunday saying the names of the juvenile victims were being withheld. The driver was a 17-year-old male from Gardner, Kan., and the passenger was a 17-year-old male from Collinsville.

The driver is said to be stable at a Tulsa hospital and his passenger has been treated and released.

The condition of the driver at the time of the crash is listed as normal and the cause of the collision was unsafe speed, the report says. The report also states it is unknown if seatbelts were in use by either occupant.
