A Chickasha grandmother came face to face Monday morning with an intruder, and police said she accomplished a lot by keeping her cool.

Police said it happened around 8 a.m. at a house on the 400 block of S. 13th Street.

The woman told News 9 she was babysitting one of her grandchildren, when she heard someone trying to break in through a back door.  She was on the phone with a 911 operator when she said she locked eyes with the suspect, who she said was a white male with a goatee mustache.

She said the intruder quickly turned and ran away.

"He looked a little scared," said the grandmother. "I guess he didn't think anyone was going to be home."

Police have a surveillance photo of the intruder, because the family had surveillance cameras mounted on their home.
