NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma improved to 4-0 in the Big 12 and 25-8 overall after a 2-0 win over Oklahoma State (19-15, 0-4) Wednesday night. The victory pushed OU's winning streak to a season-high seven games, and it was also the team's seventh straight win in the Bedlam series.

Sophomore Kelsey Stevens threw her second shutout of the season as she struck out eight and allowed six hits with two walks. She improved to 17-5 with the win.

Sophomore Erin Miller opened the scoring with an RBI single in the fourth inning, plating fellow sophomore Kady Self.

In the sixth, junior Shelby Pendley added an insurance run with a leadoff home run to left center. It was her team-leading 11th of the season and 33rd as a Sooner. She is now tied with Lindsey Vandever (2007-10) for 10th all-time in Oklahoma history in career home runs.

The Cowgirls' biggest threat came in the top of the seventh inning when OSU loaded the bases with two outs, but could not produce a run.

Simone Freeman started in the circle for OSU and pitched six innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out three.

At the plate, the Cowgirls recorded six hits, including two singles by Tarah Ettinger who ended the night 2-for-3. Shelby Davis, Danielle Riddle, Simone Freeman and Shianne Hughes all had a base hit for OSU.

The 2-0 win marks the 28th straight meeting for OU against OSU in which the Sooners have held the Cowgirls to three runs or less.
