TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma -

A Tulsa company, Promise Hotels broke ground on a new Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel in Tahlequah Tuesday.

The new 80-room hotel located near the NSU campus is scheduled to be completed in February 2015.

"We love Tahlequah, because it is such a great leisure market," said Paresh ‘Pete' Patel, President and CEO of Promise Hotels. "Additionally, we can help NSU attract more athletic events."

The hotel is similar to one scheduled to be built by a different company in the RiverWest Project in Sand Springs this year.
