The University of Oklahoma baseball team totaled eight hits to Oral Roberts' four, but was shutout at home, 2-0, at L. Dale Mitchell Park on Tuesday night in front of a crowd of 1,001. The Sooners dropped to 23-11 on the season, while the Golden Eagles improved to 15-16.

ORU struck for a run in the third and the fourth off redshirt-junior right-hander Robert Tasin. Left fielder Logan Domenico lined a double down the left field line that drew up plenty of chalk on the foul line to drive in the first run of the game. In the fourth, right fielder Tyler Boss hit a lead-off double to right, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice-fly from second baseman Matt Brandy.

Tasin (3-3) lasted 3.1 innings in his third start of the season. He gave up the two runs on three hits and two walks to go with two strikeouts. For the Golden Eagles, right-hander Pepe Gomez (4-3) went five-shutout innings to get the win as he scattered four hits and a walk and struck out four.

For the game, Oklahoma stranded 10 runners on base. The first two runners reached in both the second and ninth innings, but were unable to score.

Senior shortstop Hector Lorenzana and freshman third baseman Sheldon Neuse each went 2-for-4 on the night.

In relief, sophomore lefty Jacob Evans struck out a career-high seven batters in 3.2 innings of work as he allowed just one hit and didn't walk a batter.

Right-hander Jordan Romano picked up his seventh save of the season for ORU in two innings of relief. He surrendered two hits and two walks, including two four-pitch walks to start the ninth, and added a pair of strikeouts.
