The winds will stay up out of the south tonight at 15 to 25 mph. This will keep lows in the 50s across most of the state.

On Thursday a cold front will move in from the north changing our winds from southerly, to out of the north at 15 to 25 mph. This will create another high wildfire risk day.

We will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s. We'll see lower 90s in southwest Oklahoma.

The drought in western and southwestern Oklahoma will lead to hot summer-like temperatures in the area for the next several days. Dry air heats up faster than moist air and the result will be much warmer temperatures than the rest of the state.

On Friday we'll get a break from the Oklahoma wind. Look for highs in the lower and mid 80s with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10 to occasionally 20 mph.

Our next opportunity for rain will be on Sunday, but we could also see a severe thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.
