A couple of warm days, storms on Sunday, and cold weather early next week.

Today? Excellent weather. Highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s and light ESE winds with plenty of sunshine. Winds will increase tonight and blow from the south at 20 to 30 mph Saturday afternoon. High temperatures will reach the 80s and, yes, more low-mid 90s in western Oklahoma.

There is a VERY slight chance we could see a storm or two develop in far western Oklahoma Saturday afternoon along the dryline. But chances are extremely low as the cap (or warm layer of air aloft) will likely keep storms from developing.

However, chances of strong and severe storms will increase Sunday afternoon as an upper-level storm system arrives. A cold front will push through the state Sunday afternoon and evening, bringing very good chances of showers and thunderstorms, most of which will pose a large hail/damaging wind threat.

As the system clears on Monday, some light snow isn't out of the questions for northwest Oklahoma. Temperatures will only make to the upper 40s and lower 50s Monday afternoon, but the winds will be fierce from the north at 20 to 40 mph, making it feel MUCH colder.

Don't be surprised to see a frost or light freeze early Tuesday morning as winds relax. Another weak storm system is showing up late next week.
