Freezing Temps Follow Severe Weather Across Eastern Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Severe thunderstorms producing heavy rain, strong winds and hail rolled across southeastern Kansas and eastern and southern Oklahoma Sunday afternoon.

In Caney, Kansas strong winds toppled trees. Wind damage was also reported across eastern Oklahoma as those storms moved through.

Osage SkyNews 6 captured on video a tornado which developed in Stephens County near Duncan as those storms moved eastward.  There were no reports of any injuries from the storms.

The National Weather Service reported quarter-sized hail near Stillwater and Perry.  Pea-sized hail was reported in Skiatook.

The big change Monday was the drop in temperature. News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says highs across eastern Oklahoma will be the mid-40s with a slight chance of more rain. Monday night and early Tuesday, temperatures will drop into the lower 30s.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for southeast Kansas and all of eastern Oklahoma early Tuesday.

The counties in Kansas include Chautauqua and Montgomery. In Oklahoma, the warning includes Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Latimer, LeFlore, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties.

Monday morning, snow was reported in Oklahoma's Panhandle and southwestern Kansas.
