SAPULPA, Oklahoma -

As if accountants don't have enough stress right now, nearing that April 15th tax deadline, one tax office was really feeling the pressure, working late into the night, after a car drove into their building.

There's never a good time to have an accident, but there's definitely a bad time to run into a tax office, and that's just before Tax Day. At one office, a car came up from the parking lot and through the glass, stopping in the middle of the store.

"We all jumped thinking there'd been a big crash in the parking lot and everyone ran looking for their car," said tax advisor, Lydia Mears.

But the crash wasn't in the parking lot; it was inside the Sapulpa tax office.

"I would say we all had blood pressure issues at that point," Mears said.

The tension of tax season is familiar for the tax advisor of nearly 40 years. This year, her stress level is taking an even harder hit.

"Probably worse than the car," she laughed.

Sapulpa police said the elderly driver had just filed her taxes, and, was likely trying to reverse, but went forward.

As soon as Lydia Mears knew no one was hurt, she got back to work.

"We did not miss a client, we did not miss an appointment," said Mears.

Mears' co-worker, Sarah Beauchat wasn't working Sunday, but she would have been sitting right where the car came through the office.

"They went right back to doing taxes. They never stopped," Beauchat said. "I would've got pelted with glass."

But they didn't, no one did. So they kept working, even while EMS was still on scene.

"We had made appointments with those people and we had commitments, and we kept them," said Mears.

The tax advisors said they have not had to file extensions for any of their clients because of the accident.
